You have 3 different grades of bags. What's the difference between Lite, Original & LABS?

Fresh Headies is proud to offer three options in our Bubble Bags product line.

  • Our Original Bubble Bags are the highest quality bags available on the market today.
  • The newest addition, our LABS Bubble Bags, are professional quality, heavy duty bags, featuring a three quarter bag side wall of screen.
  • The Lite Bubble Bags are a more cost-effective option for the home user on a budget.

Our Original Bubble Bags are the same professional quality bags that you know and love. The heaviest fabric available on the market, these bags are made with European heat stamped screen fabric which is exact within 1 micron, and the sidewalls are made of the most durable fabric available in an extraction bag at 800 thread count. The Originals will last for over 200 uses with proper care and carry a lifespan warranty against manufacturer’s defects.

Our LABS Bubble Bags feature a ¾ mesh sidewall which make them much easier to lift and saves considerable processing time.
These are made with European heat stamped screen fabric which is exact within 1 micron (same as Originals). The remaining 1/4 nylon sidewall uses the most durable fabric available in an extraction bag at 800 thread count. The LABS will last for over 200 uses with proper care and carry a lifespan warranty against manufacturer’s defects.

The Lite Bubble Bags are our more cost-effective line of Bubble Bags, providing the same brand name top quality, in a lighter fabric for the budget conscious home user. Includes a 1 year warranty against manufacturer's defects.

What materials are used to produce the bags?

  • Mesh Screen: polyester
Our Bubble Bags are made with top quality German monofilament polyester screens. This is part of what makes our bags stand above the rest.
The screen is heat stamped to keep the fibers from shifting, retaining a consistent pore size and preventing contamination of your extracts.
  • Sidewalls: 800 or 400 thread count nylon
Bubble Bags use the strongest nylon fabric for the sidewalls. Sidewalls are 100% waterproof, with 800 thread count nylon for the 5 and 20 gallon bags and 400 thread count for the 1/2 gallon bags and Lites.
  • Thread: nylon
Bubble Bags are triple stitched with 100% nylon bonded thread for extra strength.

With proper care as instructed, you can expect your Bubble Bags will last for many years. Expected lifespan is over 200 washes with the Originals & LABS, and over 100 washes with the Lites. Refer to our Warranty page.

Should I get the 8 bag set or the 4 bag set?

Fresh Headies’ Bubble Bags 8 bag set is the best choice for the connoisseur looking to produce a high quality herbal extract.

Each strain has its own unique profile of varying crystal sizes, and these differences can be observed by comparing the extract collected in the different bags. The 8 bag set represents the upper echelon in Full Melt Bubble, allowing the user to separate the herbal extract according to the size of the crystals or glandular heads of the plant, offering different grades ranging from commercial grade to cream of the crop top quality Full Melt Bubble, which bubbles when flame heated.

The 190 micron bag removes contaminants from your herbal extract. The 160 micron bag, although it may contain usable herbal extract with certain strains, acts as another layer of contaminant removal. The remaining 5 bags contain your best herbal extract. Some strains or types of plants have larger crystals or glandular heads than others, so it is difficult to predict which bag will contain the best herbal extract. However, Full Melt Bubble generally is found in the 90 micron bag and the 73 micron bag.

For those who prefer an easier process, our 4 bag set can't be beat.
The 4 bag set contains a work bag, one contaminant removal bag, and two crystal collection bags. The 220 and 160 micron contaminant removal bags catch small particles of leaf and dirt, removing them to produce a high quality extract in the 73 and 25 micron bags. With practice and using very high quality plant material, you might find Full Melt Bubble in the 73 micron bag.
The 4 bag set is a good option for people who simply want a reasonably priced and durable set .

How do I make Full Melt Bubble?

Full Melt Bubble is a plant extract that bubbles when heated, which is what led Bubble Man to call our bags "Bubble Bags." To begin with, you need to start with high quality plant matter. It should have lots of crystals and be as fresh as possible. High quality herbal extract can only be made from high quality plant material. Most people find they must use the 8 bag set to produce Full Melt Bubble.

Be sure to freeze your plant matter overnight before starting to make your Bubble herbal extract. Make sure there is lots of ice in the water at all times – the temperature of the water should always be 4 degrees Celsius or lower. Do not over-agitate your mixture. For best results, use our BubbleNow machine for this step. Alternatively, you may choose to mix for 15 minutes with a wooden spoon. An electric mixer can be used, but the product will tend to be of lower quality. The more you break up the plant matter, the more you will contaminate your Bubble herbal extract with small particles of leaf. This will still produce enjoyable herbal extract, but it will probably not be Full Melt Bubble.

Can I make Bubble Herbal Extract with moldy plant matter?

YES. Bubble Man recommends an extra mold-removing step: place your herbal extract into a jar full of water with a tight-fitting lid and shake it up. The mold spores will float to the top and can be skimmed off with a spoon or turkey baster. Then, rinse the jar into the 25 micron bubble bag and press the moisture out as usual.

How should I store my Bubble Herbal Extract?

First, make sure that it is completely dry before storing. Bubble that has been pressed into a ball or brick while wet can get moldy inside.

To dry your extract:

Step 1: Blot excess water: gently press out as much water as possible using the blotting screen with a kitchen towel or other absorbent cloth.
Step 2: Powder: break up your herbal extract into a powder and allow it to dry completely. A stainless steel sieve can be used to break up the extract.
Steop 3: Dry: Bubble Man recommends spreading your extract on a piece of thick corrugated cardboard (pizza boxes work well, but not the thinner cereal box type cardboard) and allowing it to dry for 5 or more days.

For long term storage, after your bubble is completely dry, you can store it indefinitely using glass jars or any sealed container. Our Tightvac Jars will keep your extract fresh for months.

Proper Care of Bubble Bags | How should I clean my Bubble Bags?

  1. Always rinse the bags thoroughly with cold water immediately after use.

Do not use warm or hot water, as this will clog the screens with melted trichomes.

  1. Repeat if necessary.
  2. Hang the bags and always allow to air dry completely before storing them to prevent mold or rot issues.

► For heavy stains, soak overnight, then repeat step 1.

► Never use detergent or solvents.

► If your screens become clogged,  you can use 99% isopropyl alcohol on a soft toothbrush to gently remove tough stains.  Keep alcohol away from edge of screen (stitching).

Why Are My Bubble Bag Screens Stamped With A Number?

Genuine Bubble Bags are often stamped on the screens with a number by the screen manufacturer. This is a great way to identify genuine Bubble Bags. The ink is medical grade and inert and will not affect your extract and it is fine to ingest.
